USYD at First Sight is a Welcome Week project founded by Student Life Grants Program 2022. It aimed to let new and current students discover or re-discover the memories of special places within the USYD campus that left a unique impression on them through fresh eyes. There were at least 300 hundred people who participated.

Everything started from a Wonder: What is Strategic Design?
After conducting 20 interviews with world-leading design practitioners, Ruiwen uncovered the journey of the 1st generation of design strategists and addressed a series of issues in the current education. This led to ongoing research with Dr Leigh-Anne Hepburn about mapping out the future strategic design education.

In this research, Ruiwen led her group conducted primary and secondary research through design methods to uncover the future trends and employees' expectations of the future workplace. The team decided to investigate these four aspects: 1) work practice, 2) tools and adaptation, 3) work relationship and 4) the future of work.
